Kevin Feige to Receive 2026 Pioneer of the Year Award from Will Rogers Foundation

LOS ANGELES – July 14, 2026 – The Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation (WRMPPF) announced that Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios and chief creative officer of Marvel, will be honored with the 2026 Pioneer of the Year Award. The ceremony will take place on September 30 at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.

The Pioneer of the Year Award is a long‑standing tradition that recognizes leaders in the motion picture industry who demonstrate exceptional service, philanthropy, and creative vision. All proceeds from the event support the Pioneers Assistance Fund, a charity that provides financial aid and counseling to working and retired professionals in the film distribution and exhibition sector.

"Kevin Feige is a dynamic producer and executive whose creativity and vision entertain and inspire moviegoers everywhere," said Kyle Davies, president of distribution at Bleecker Street Media and co‑chairman of the Pioneers Assistance Fund Committee. "The Will Rogers Pioneers Assistance Fund is proud to celebrate Kevin’s monumental cinematic achievements and extraordinary leadership by presenting him with the 2026 Pioneer of the Year Award."

Feige has overseen the production of 37 feature films that collectively grossed more than $32 billion worldwide. Eleven of those films surpassed the $1 billion mark, including Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, each of which earned over $2 billion. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which Feige helped launch with Iron Man in 2008, has become the most successful film franchise in history.

The first MCU film, Iron Man, redefined the superhero genre and set the stage for the franchise’s global reach. Subsequent releases such as The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America: Civil War, and Black Panther—the first superhero film nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture—expanded the MCU’s cultural impact. Iron Man was inducted into the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress in 2022 for its cultural significance.

Feige’s upcoming projects include Spider‑Man: Brand New Day, scheduled for release in July, and Avengers: Doomsday, slated for December. In addition to his film work, Feige has received several industry honors, including the Producers Guild of America’s 2019 David O. Selznick Achievement Award and BAFTA’s Albert R. Broccoli Britannia Award for Worldwide Contribution to Entertainment. He earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2024.

A graduate of the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, Feige serves on the school’s Board of Councilors and established the Kevin Feige Division of Film & Television Production in 2025.

The Will Rogers Foundation has honored a wide range of industry figures over its 75‑year history. Past Pioneer of the Year recipients include Kate Hudson, Greta Gerwig, Erik Lomis, Barbara Broccoli, Michael G. Wilson, Tom Cruise, Donna Langley, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, Elizabeth Banks, Jim Gianopulos, Dick Cook, Michael D. Eisner, Alan Horn, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Kathleen Kennedy, Sherry Lansing, Frank G. Mancuso, Sumner Redstone, Terry Semel, Tom Sherak, Jack Valenti, Jack Warner, Darryl F. Zanuck, and Cecil B. DeMille.

The September 30 ceremony will bring together industry leaders, philanthropists, and members of the film community to recognize Feige’s contributions to cinema and to raise funds for the Pioneers Assistance Fund. The event is expected to attract a broad cross‑section of Hollywood executives, producers, and actors.

As of today, the foundation has confirmed the date, location, and honoree. No additional details about the program schedule or additional guests have been released.

The award underscores Feige’s role in shaping modern blockbuster filmmaking and highlights the foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting the welfare of film industry veterans.
