Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan to Host Netflixs Lock Upp 2: Sach Ya Sazaa
Netflix will launch the second season of the Indian reality series Lock Upp on 27 June 2026. The new edition, titled Lock Upp 2: Sach Ya Sazaa, will feature 14 celebrity contestants confined in a prison‑themed set for six weeks. The show is hosted by filmmaker Farah Khan and actor‑producer Riteish Deshmukh, replacing Kangana Ranaut who hosted the original season.
The launch event in Mumbai confirmed the change in hosts and the reworked format. Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh appeared together, describing their roles as “very, very strict” for the season. During the event, Riteish joked that Sach (truth) is his side while Sazaa (punishment) belongs to Farah. Farah replied that she is not a punishment but a source of fun. She added that she considers Riteish her brother and praised his sense of humour, saying it is “100 times more than what he shows.” Riteish, smiling, noted that the decision to join the show was also driven by the money.
Ekta Kapoor, the creator and co‑producer of the series, explained that the new edition is a complete rework of the original concept. She said the format has changed so much that the previous host and jailer roles were removed. “Nothing of the original show has been kept, neither the jailer nor the host,” Kapoor said. She added that the change was necessary to give the series a fresh presentation.
The contestant lineup remains largely undisclosed, but the launch event revealed three confirmed participants: actor Ram Kapoor, television actress Shivangi Joshi, and socialite Pamela Serena. Kapoor, who has worked with Kapoor on several projects, said he joined the show after receiving a call from a close casting agent, the presence of Farah and Riteish, and his long‑standing relationship with Ekta Kapoor.
During the event, Riteish was asked about the possibility of former Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt appearing on the show. He clarified that his role is strictly as a host and that he does not decide which contestants will be part of the program.
The series is billed as a “social experiment” that blends drama, entertainment, and a prison‑themed challenge. Contestants will compete in tasks, reveal personal secrets, and face consequences under the watch of the two jailers.
Lock Upp 2 will be available for streaming on Netflix worldwide from 27 June 2026. The show is part of Netflix’s growing slate of Indian originals and follows the success of the first season, which premiered on ALTBalaji and MX Player in February 2022.
The change in hosts and format marks a new chapter for the franchise. While the original season was hosted by Kangana Ranaut, the new edition’s leadership by Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh is expected to bring a different dynamic to the series.
The series will run for six weeks, after which the final outcomes will be revealed. Viewers can expect a mix of celebrity drama, strategic gameplay, and the unique prison setting that has defined the Lock Upp brand.
The show’s premiere on Netflix is scheduled for 27 June 2026, and it will be available for free to subscribers on the platform.
