Marvels Star Wars: Galaxys Edge - Echoes of the Empire #3 Arrives June 24, 2026
Marvel Comics will release the third issue of its Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Echoes of the Empire miniseries on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. The 32‑page comic, priced at $4.99, is available in standard and three variant covers.
The story continues the saga set on the planet Batuu, where the Black Spire Outpost serves as the backdrop for the Galaxy’s Edge theme park at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In this issue, Darth Vader confronts a large droid army on Batuu while Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, C‑3PO and R2‑D2 attempt to escape the Empire’s forces. Meanwhile, the character Oga launches a campaign against the syndicate that controls the Black Spire Outpost.
Written by Ethan Sacks, the issue is illustrated by Roi Mercado and Jethro Morales, with a cover drawn by Phil Noto. The comic is rated T for general audiences. Physical dimensions are 6.61 inches wide by 10.15 inches tall, with a thickness of 0.05 inches and a weight of 2 ounces. Each carton contains 200 copies.
Three variant covers are offered:
Walt Simonson variant – $4.99 (US) / $6.25 (CAN) Leiln Yu Leia variant – $4.99 (US) / $6.25 (CAN) * Rickie Yagawa 3‑part Connecting Pride variant – $4.99 (US) / $6.25 (CAN)
The issue is part of a five‑issue series that explores events tied to the Galaxy’s Edge attractions. The series is one of several Star Wars comics published by Marvel under license from Lucasfilm. In addition to the print edition, a digital version is available through Marvel’s digital platforms.
Black Spire Outpost, the setting for the story, is a settlement on Batuu that serves as a hub for traders, adventurers and smugglers. The outpost’s location on the edge of the Outer Rim makes it a strategic point for both the Empire and the Rebellion.
The release of issue #3 follows the first two installments, which established the conflict between the Empire’s droid forces and the Rebel characters. The third issue deepens the narrative by showing Vader’s direct involvement and by expanding Oga’s storyline against the syndicate.
Marvel’s Star Wars comics have been part of the company’s broader strategy to expand the franchise’s presence across print, digital, and theme‑park tie‑ins. The Galaxy’s Edge series is one example of how the company leverages the popularity of the Star Wars universe to create new storytelling opportunities.
Collectors and fans can purchase the issue at comic book specialty stores, through Marvel’s online shop, or via the Comic Shop Locator. Digital copies can be accessed through Marvel Unlimited or the Kindle Store.
With the release of issue #3, the Echoes of the Empire arc moves closer to its conclusion, setting the stage for the final installments that will resolve the conflict on Batuu and the fate of the characters involved.
