Banijay Kids & Family Secures Multiple Latin-American Deals Ahead of Annecy MIFA Market
Just before the Annecy MIFA market, Banijay Kids & Family announced a series of package agreements that will expand its reach across Latin‑American broadcasters and streaming platforms.
Warner Bros. Discovery Latin America signed a flagship deal that brings the upcoming Season 8 of the animated spy series Totally Spies! and the Italian‑French 2‑D comedy Topo Gigio to the region. V‑me Media, the U.S. Spanish‑language network, added a slate of preschool and family titles to its Vme Kids channel, including MiniHeroes of the Forest, Sweet Tweets, Mumfie, The Game Catchers Season 1, and Stan & Gran. Mexican public broadcaster Canal Once secured a diverse lineup for its Once Niñas y Niños channel, comprising Chimera Keepers, Hey You! What If…?, Junior Vets, Moominvalley Seasons 3‑4, Silverpoint Seasons 1‑2, and Street Football Season 4. The Hispanic Information Telecommunications Network (HITN) added MiniHeroes of the Forest, Sweet Tweets, Tee and Mo, and The Game Catchers Season 1 to its Edye preschool platform.
Three titles stand out. Totally Spies! Season 8 is the second season after the 2021 reboot of the original series that ran from 2001 to 2012. The new season is produced by Zodiak Kids & Family France in partnership with French kids’ network Gulli and Warner Bros. Discovery EMEA. MiniHeroes of the Forest, an Italian‑French 3‑D adventure series about four animal friends who gain mini super‑powers, topped the 4‑5‑year‑old segment and ranked second among 6‑7‑year‑olds on Italy’s Rai Yoyo and appeared in the top 15 preschool programs on France 5 and Okoo. The Game Catchers Season 1 follows children traveling the universe to discover and collect playground games.
Banijay Kids & Family’s catalogue also includes long‑running IP such as Totally Spies! and Mr Bean: The Animated Series. The company has built a reputation for licensing and merchandising rights for its franchises. CEO Benoît Di Sabatino said the new agreements reinforce the company’s position as a “go‑to supplier of kids and family programming” in Latin America.
In a statement, Banijay Kids & Family noted that the deals were made in collaboration with commercial and public‑service clients in the region to deliver a mix of entertainment and edutainment that meets audience needs. The company also highlighted the importance of animation for audience retention, citing research that lists animation as the second most important factor after comedy on Netflix and the biggest on Max.
The package deals come as Banijay Kids & Family continues to expand its presence in the Latin‑American market. Its parent, Banijay Entertainment, is the world’s largest international content producer and distributor, with a catalogue of more than 185,000 hours of original programming.
The agreements were announced on June 19, 2026, just before the Annecy International Animation Film Festival’s MIFA market, which runs from June 23 to 26. The market is a key venue for licensing and distribution deals in the animation and family entertainment sectors.
In short, Banijay Kids & Family has secured a broad array of titles across multiple platforms in Latin America, reinforcing its strategy of leveraging established IP and new animated content to meet the region’s demand for high‑quality kids programming.
