After visiting the One World Trade center observatory in New York City, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle headed back to their hotel.
Around 6 p.m. Harry was seen in the bar of the Carlyle Hotel ($1300 a night) and everyone wondered where Meghan was, since she had joined him there the previous evening. Well, better late than never. When Harry returned to the bar later that evening, before dinner, Meghan joined him. They enjoyed cocktails and played host to another couple. While socializing, Harry and Meghanbwere protected by 20 security guards inside the bar and 10 cars outside the hotel.

When Harry stepped away from his royal duties, one of the big bones of contention that he had with the royal family was the cost of security needed to protect his family. As an active royal, the security detail had been paid for by the UK. However, once Harry and Meghan stopped serving the public, the argument was that the public shouldn’t foot their security bill any longer. It is unclear who pays for Harry and Meghan’s guards these days. Did Prince Charles reinstate Harry’s allowance or do they pay for security themselves? At any rate, the coffers seem heavy because the royal couple was swarming with pricey protection.
While Harry and Meghan were in the bar, two men stood outside an checked patrons for vaccination before others were allowed to enter. Then the guards tried to camouflage themselves, pretending to act like normal patrons, taking tables near Harry and Meghan and trying to casually assimilate with the crowd, all while watching Harry and Meghan with eagle eyes, making sure no one got too close to them.

Harry and Meghan had martinis and then left through the back entrance and headed to dinner. Three hours later, they were back, escorted by two G wagons, 5 Cadillac Escalades and police.
